When we walked more to the front of the building the menthol smell was not noticeable. The halls of the hotel near my room near the back and my room smelled musty and I believe they tried to mask the odor with some strong menthol spray. The outside of the hotel in the back was littered with garbage and it did not look like anybody was outside trying to clean anything up. We ended up moving our car and walking a little further to get into the hotel. I noticed the same group of people who were not hotel guests still loitering outside in that same location most of the day. When we pulled into this hotel and parked near our room entrance, I noticed a group of men loitering outside smoking something and it actually scared us a little to be parking near them.
